Sitting by the Fire, 2062 A.D.

Another 100 Word Story. File this one under "Romance."

Sitting by the Fire, 2062 A.D.

I didn’t know much about cars back then.

“It smells like burnt popcorn in my car,” I told the beautiful mechanic.

She poked her head through the open passenger side window, and sniffed. “Have you been eating popcorn in here?” she asked me.

“Sometimes,” I said. It was a dumb question.

She looked at me across the roof of the car. “How long do you cook it in the microwave?”

    I shrugged. “I don’t know. Seven, seven-and-a-half minutes?”

She shook her head. “That’s too long.”

And that, children, is how I met your grandmother.
