How to Not Lie at the Blood Bank
Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 3:07PM Writing long fiction is exhausting for me, so today I decided to write a story in 100 words or less. This one clocks in at 99. I cannot recommend this exercise highly enough.

How to Not Lie at the Blood Bank
She was halfway down the list of donor questions before the lady at the blood bank asked me, “Have you ever been given money or drugs in exchange for sex?”
“Money or drugs?” I replied. We shared a little laugh.
“But seriously,” she said. “Have you ever been given money or drugs in exchange for sex?"
“Given?” I replied. “I’ll have you know I earned every gram!”
We laughed together again. She checked the box for NO on the form, and I leaned back in my chair, my conscience clean.
